Buying a Rental property

Where to start

This is one of the first questions almost everyone asks!

It’s also something we are well placed to help you with.

We’ll have a comprehensive discussion with you. Then we’ll go away and work out what you’re able to borrow from the banks – and therefore what is achievable for you.

In many cases one bank will approve you, while another won’t.

But don’t worry about this. It’s our job to find the best bank for you. You don’t have to approach each bank individually! We do the leg work for you.

Tax - yikes!

If you're thinking of buying a rental property you probably don't know where to start.

We understand - we've been in your shoes!

Now we're in a position where we've done it before - both for ourselves and for many, many clients.

Not only can we help you through the process, we can help introduce you to some experts that you'll want to talk to along the way.

Considering the tax implications when structuring your loan is usually very, very important.

Although we can’t give you tax advice, we know a number of experts. Some of whom will provide a free no obligation consultation for you.  And to whom we can provide you with a warm introduction to.

We are even happy to be included in your tax discussions with your accountant or tax adviser. So we hear first hand how your loan should be structured - and can act accordingly.

As ultimately we want to ensure everything is arranged properly for you – with as little hassle as possible at your end.

In case you're wondering - we don't receive any back-handers from introducing you to tax advisers. We simply like to see our clients speaking to exper

Landlord obligations

Since the 2017 election there have been a number of changes to landlord obligations.

In general these have been for the benefit of your tenant’s health. Which is hard to argue with!

It’s important to know what your obligations are before you buy a property though. As you want to make sure you don’t accidentally buy a property that will cost you a fortune to upgrade.

Having been through this process ourselves and for many clients we can share our experience with you. We can also provide free access to experts in this field, so you can make sure you know what to expect – and what to look out for.

How do I get the best mortgage deal

Being ready to pounce on a good deal

Timing can be everything.

So being able to present an offer with as few conditions as possible is incredibly attractive to a seller. Which can result in you getting a better deal.

By sorting your finances out ahead of time, we can help you be in a position to make as strong an offer as possible. And hopefully help you get you a much better deal along the way!

This is one of the most enjoyable parts of our job.

We have up to date knowledge of the best rates the major banks are offering. And therefore the best deal that you can qualify for.

We really enjoy approaching banks on your behalf and negotiating a great deal for our clients.

Even more than that - we really enjoy lending you our expertise. To help you work out the best structure - that will get you ahead and help you reach your goals.

We hope we can help you too!

We'd love to help make your home buying journey both more enjoyable and rewarding.
